affirmed a lower court judgment finding that Steve is mentally retarded and therefore

Cole County Detention Center on Monday, July 28, 2003On April 29, 2003, the Missouri Supreme Court issued an opinion granting Joe a writ of habeas corpus
finding that he had established by "clear and convincing evidence"

Case Background Information
STEVEN L. MANNINGIn Janurary of 2005,a federal jury in Chicago awarded Steven Manning 6.6 million dollars in
damages in his lawsuit against two FBI agents. The trial judge has yet to rule on a
separate claim for damages against the government. We will keep you posted.

On February 7, 2005, Theodore White, Jr. was finally acquitted and set free after nearly six years
of wrongful incarceration.
